Hello, and welcome to my site full of antique photographs of various sorts. I have been collecting various tintypes from antique stores from around Wisconsin and some from eBay, too. In addition, I have found daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and various other images, including postcards.
The point of this site is to get unidentified (and some identified) antique images online in the hopes of any visitors possibly recognizing them. In this way, genealogy is being furthered as well as accomplishing a goal of identifying images which were previously unidentified. I also wish it to be a general learning tool for visitors who simply need help identifying their own collections.
The tintypes are organized by state/country based on where they were either purchased from or have been positively identified as being from. Other images (ambrotypes, albums, etc.) are organized simply by those categories and thus have a mixture of geographical origins.
Please feel free to spread the word about this site- the more people who know about it, the better chance we have that someone will recognize the pictures. Please contact me, also, if you have questions, comments, or anything else. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
1/15/13 Update: You may have noticed that the images are not loading. Please be patient, as my image host is down. The owner of the host site has assured me that it is almost fixed but is not sure exactly when it will be back. I am hoping it will be soon
I'm always online, even if there are no new updates.
